Music Opens a Door for the Gospel in Chandler — Spring 2010

God continues to aid us as we reach out to our community. Disciples are rising up and taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to the streets. Whole families are out on any number of street corners, raising their voices to declare the judgment of God against sin and his mercy to those who will call out in repentance. These zealots for Christ have been able to pray with dozens of souls, right on the streets!

As part of our strategy for seeing souls saved and established, we have had several revivals. Rick Martinez continued to “strut” his stuff as he lifted up Christ through timely messages intertwined with his personal testimony of salvation. People were healed and set free during this meeting, with a number of souls saved.

We were blessed to have Patrick Johnson as part of our Black History Celebration. He began with a music scene and then moved into five powerful days of revival. Following the Sunday morning service, we had a soul-food picnic in the park next to the church. Many new converts and faithful rejoiced in this time of fellowship. In addition to ministering in music each night, Brother Johnson preached timely messages of healing and deliverance and ministered in a word of knowledge to many.

In addition to the revivals, we put on a production of “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.” We had almost 700 in attendance for the play. Our Grinch found his heart when he found Christ and was able to lead the way for the seven precious souls that were saved. We were also privileged to have our children’s play, “It all happened in the country.” Family members who normally would not attend church came out and heard the gospel declared in pure simplicity and responded to the alter call. We thank God for the opportunities we have to minister the Gospel in the holiday season!

As we move deeper into 2010, we look forward to God moving in powerful revival in Chandler. Pray for us as we pray for you.
