Chandler Celebrates 50 Years of Faithfulness

In the recent weeks, we have seen such a divine grace and anointing upon the ministry of our beloved Pastor Campbell. You know those sermons that make you think, “I really needed to hear that right now.” Well, that’s been about every sermon he has preached lately, and the same could also be said for our entire staff.

Every message has been encouraging, healing, convicting, inspiring, all at the same time. This has particularly had an Impact on our young people, who, since November, have packed out our Young Adults Bible study with over 50- 60 in attendance. We had to relocate the study from Pastor Williams’ home to the fellowship hall of our church.

In December, we were privileged to see our young people come together to present a Christmas rendition of The Greatest Showman. From a production (play effects, acting) to a preaching (altar calls) to a people (visitor experience) standpoint, every aspect of this event was a victory. There was a tangible unity brought not only to the young people on stage, but with everyone involved.

Countless visitors expressed their astonishment when realizing the play was put on by our youth, the magnitude of what they were able to accomplish, and the depiction and declaration of the Gospel woven throughout the plot. Across three nights, we saw over 600 people attend, and more than 50 decisions made for Jesus Christ.

Since 1976, our church has been making impact in the city of Chandler, and not only locally but globally as well. On January 4, we kicked off our 50th Year Anniversary celebration. Elder saints have been sharing their testimonies regularly during Sunday School sessions, and the congregation has been blessed to hear these and get an insight into the early days of our church, the spirit of the day, and what God was doing back then.

We hosted a museum in the foyer of our church, displaying photos, testimonies, and stories of saints who have gone before us, and saints who have endured and remained faithful for all these years. This has brought a tremendous dignity to our church, and has served as a reminder of the legacy and heritage standing behind us as we labor continuously in our community.

As we reflect on the past 50 years, we see the faithfulness not only of people, but of God. His faithfulness to build His church, to save the lost, to heal the sick and brokenhearted, and to use ordinary men and women to accomplish extraordinary things for His kingdom.
