Music Opens a Door for the Gospel in Chandler — Spring 2025

Our recent Sunday School Series titled “Reading the Room” led by Pastor Torey Williams, has had a massive impact on our congregation. With touch points on themes such as people skills, forgiveness, redemption (just to name a few), it has influenced the flock and how we serve, interact, and minister. In the trenches of our frontlines when working together, we often now hear the phrase uttered “read the room!”, which speaks to the awareness and help it has brought people in the recent months.

We decided to read the room in December, and hosted our first ever Winter Wonderland event. Setting up in our parking lot, we served food and held games at various booths/ stations, along with a short film highlighting that Jesus is the Reason for the Season! It rallied the church together for a final event of the year, and perhaps more importantly, provided a visual to the church of the enormous potential for this event in the future.

Just a couple of weeks later for our Christmas day service, our first ever Men’s Choir performed special music, and let there be no doubt, that the Holy Ghost came down! Over 40 men redeemed by the Blood if the Lamb, stood up to sing, and to declare the goodness of our Lord Jesus! It was a “proclamation letting the devil know which side is up” is how one person described it.

Shortly after the new year, we began our annual in-home Bible Studies. We saw five first-time couples announced as assistants this season. Given the recent influx of visitors, and number of converts added to the church, this has been a near perfect segway to build relationships, and help solidify what God has been doing.

February 2 was the start of our annual Black History revival, featuring our very own, home-grown, Pastor Stacey Dillard. We kicked off Sunday morning with 33 visitors, and of those, 17 were at the altar making decisions for Jesus!

Our cookout following the morning service was filled with wonderful fellowship, and the breaking of bread between new converts and saints alike.

In one sermon, Pastor Dillard challenged us this year to “Thrive in ‘25,” not merely survive. Every message was the epitome of timely and encouraging. By the end of the revival, we had seen more than 50 visitors and over 30 saved.

Let there be no doubt, One80s still work! Our concert scene is yielding fruit, and in the last couple of months, among steady visitors in attendance, we have seen young men rise to the challenge of becoming a One80 preacher. The spirit of our church, especially since our Bible conference in October, is one that we hope to capture and keep in the coming months, and for the rest of this year.
