Pietermaritzburg Celebrates 20 Years of Faithfulness

The Pietermaritzburg Main church was able to celebrate a milestone in November 2016 with one of the founding missionary pastors coming in to commemorate the 20th year anniversary.

Pastor Jack Miller, now in Palmdale, California was able to come across from the USA with his son Pastor Tim Miller to preach a revival here. They were kindly sent by their respective churches, Palmdale and Espanola who paid for their fl ights to South Africa. We are so grateful for the investment these churches made to make it possible for them to come. All three churches in Pietermaritzburg benefi ted greatly from this investment.

Pastor Tim Miller preached a powerful sermon based on the life of Zacchaeus and took the opportunity to repent of stealing cash from the church offering when he was a backslidden teenager living here in Pietermaritzburg. We had a fantastic 20th Anniversary Revival with God working in the lives of the saints. We had people saved and delivered throughout the revival. Pastor Jack challenged the church to pledge toward getting a new building as the lease on the current one was expiring. R48,000 was pledged and a signifi cant portion was given helping us to locate and move into a new building street front, no-stairs building on the 1st of January 2017.

We entered 2017 with a mini revival with Pastor John Robinson who pastored the Verulam church and is now evangelising out of Prescott. He and his wife Molly were a great support here for us while they were here.

During that mini revival we saw 30 visitors on Sunday morning with 26 giving their hearts to Jesus that day. Pastor John ministers powerfully in a words of knowledge. He prayed for a number of people needing jobs and to date almost all of them have found employment.

We held the Grand Opening for the new building with Pastor Nathi Hadebe in February 2017 with great success. Many were saved and delivered with many receiving words of knowledge as well. Pastor Hadebe is a gifted pastor who operates ably in the gifts of an evangelist. We are very appreciative of the support we receive from the Eldorado Park Conference Centre here in South Africa

In March 2017, we had a revival for salvation during outreach in aa with with international international Evangelist Evangelist Edwin Edwin Jonkhout out of Holland where we saw God do miracles in healing, and direction for the saints with numbers receiving words every night. The disciples were challenged to rise up and there was an almost immediate response. As a result of this we challenged the men to join us for a serious men’s meeting at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday morning and had nine turn up for the fi rst meeting. We also had a men’s fellowship and discipleship at a local sportsground with 29 in attendance. Six young men gave their hearts to Jesus at this event.

In April 2017, we had our fi rst Harvester’s Homecoming with Guest Speaker Pastor Mdu Sibiya and baby church Pastors Godfrey Msomi(Imbali) and Pastor Udesh Muthusamy (Raisethorpe). It was a great time where we saw souls saved as well as new and old faces come in and celebrate all that God has done for the churches in the city.

Regular movie and Saturday outreaches continue to bear fruit with 22 souls saved at a recent Saturday morning outreach.

We are continuing to believe God for our city. Please pray for us specifi cally for couples and families to get saved and locked in to PMB and Raisethorpe churches as well as a desperate need for a building for the Imbali Church.
