A Healing Crusade Stirs Faith in Escarcega — Fall 2024

In the past, Escarcega began just like a little town that start to grow due to natural resources and the train that was built in the heart of the city. It’s a striking story because this city was appointed to be the capital of the whole state for its strategic location.

The Gospel arrived 30 years ago with major Christian denominations from the U.S., such as Assemblies of God, Full Gospel, Baptist, Presbyterian, and many more. These churches really had revival, big buildings were built, they believed in the power of the Holy Ghost, many still remember great campaigns and revivals with foreign pastors. Well known Christian artists and bands came to play massive concerts. Sadly, this almost entirely disappeared.

When we arrived, July the 20th, the spirit of this city impacted us with perversion, drug addiction, poverty, witchcraft, and thieves everywhere. We would never imagine that in the past all this happened. Big buildings were almost empty and the city was in a great need of spiritual power and justice.

We almost immediately started to preach the Gospel, and found a house with a building next to it. All this was with the same owner. We rented it and in our big opening we saw people getting saved, praises be to God!

We started to have regular services establishing the kingdom of God, outreaching, street preaching, giving out flyers, doing local concerts out in the streets, and we started to see good things happening.

We had a major setback, after Christmas. We went to visit a good friend of mine in Chetumal, missionary Luis Alcala from McAllen, Texas, and when we returned our house was torn apart. Thieves broke in and took everything they could, hitting us financially very hard as we were pioneering. We cried but we knew we had to keep going and believing God for restoration.

We were challenged by the enemy for us to leave, but we decided to fight back and we had our very first Healing Crusade, which was truly a great miracle because we didn’t have people serving yet, for we were at that time a church of fivemonths. The city helped us with 200 chairs for the event and all permits. Pastors of our Fellowship from the area came to help us with their churches and to the glory of God we saw great miracles taking place and local people smiling and rejoicing for God was returning to his city again!

From that moment God started to faithfully build his church, sending great men of God to help us with powerful revivals, including Evangelist John Valtierra from Prescott, Arizona.

Now a year later we have a thriving church with men and women serving the Lord Jesus with passion. A key victory for us was seeing the thieves who stole at my house coming to church and repenting, receiving Jesus Christ as savior!
