A Healing Crusade Stirs Faith in Escarcega — Summer 2025

At the beginning of the year, God did a great miracle in our healing crusade. We scheduled my Pastor Adalberto Castro and a missionary from the States, Pastor Luis Alcalá, but unfortunately the rain stopped our plan. It was not possible to have the crusade in the venue where we had planned. My pastor preached powerful messages in the church that encouraged us. Saturday came, the rain continued in the venue we chose, and now it seemed even more difficult than the previous days. There were ponds and mud. We really wanted to do the crusade, and we already had 200 chairs, the platform, and the sound equipment. Everything was ready. God had previously opened doors to us, so I started to have a zeal from God. Standing with Pastor Alcalá, I asked him if we should give a try with the risk of rain that had stopped a little bit in that moment. He told me that he would help me no matter what happened. We started crying out to God and miraculously the rain stopped. In a matter of minutes the soil was dry, absorbing the water.

We started the crusade and people started to show up despite the fact that one hour before it had been raining. We saw powerful healings, but God had more.

Escarcega is very flat, no mountains or high lands, and even though we only had a 15” amplified speaker and two passive speakers of 12”, almost the entire city heard the message. Areas far away from the city heard clearly the praise and worship and the message of salvation. We saw the fruit of this crusade and our brothers were encouraged to believe and fight for miracles.

A situation that was hurting us was the location of our church. When we arrived at Escarcega, the construction of the Mayan train station was in full swing. It brought a lot workers that occupied what could be used to live and store material. Everything was rented and with prices in the clouds, we only found a building about five blocks from the city center. It was on a hidden street, didn’t have a bathroom and no storage space, it was expensive, and we had a tree right on the side that covered part of the facade. We were in this place for a year and three months and we felt that we had to move. We started looking, but we only found very expensive buildings that didn’t work for us.

Since we arrived in Escarcega we saw a restaurant that didn’t have any customers. It was on the same street but almost on the corner where people could see it clearly and it was a well known restaurant in the past. I asked the owner if we could rent it, explaining that we needed something cheaper and thanks to God he accepted. The building is bigger than the previous one, with a capacity of 100 people. It has a kitchen that we are going to adapt for nursery and two bathrooms, and it is only 25 dollars more than the previous building.

God has added to the church key people - former drug addicts, alcoholics who have been a great testimony of restoration in the city and also foreign people like brother Antonio, who is a veterinarian from the State of Mexico who works for an American company here in Escarcega. He is the vaccination supervisor of all the poultry farms in the area. Families are happy and young people are taking the vision of preaching.
