Music Opens a Door for the Gospel in Eden Park — Summer 2025

Early in January our church was privileged to send an impact team to Botswana along with our pastor going to minister a full revival for the Broadhurst church. The team shared an exciting report of all that the Lord did through their outreaching, testimonies and concert ministry.

In February we had our annual Harvesters Homecoming with Pastor Jonathan Heimberg and pastors raised from our church ministering powerfully. It also was a milestone as our church was celebrating 25 years of impact in our city and communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our pastor had all three pioneer pastors - Robert Polaco, Jeff Day and Chris Aulson - send their encouragements to the church. Thank God for modern day technology which enabled that!

We followed with Melville evangelist Pieter Mahlangu who came and ministered reminding the church about the need for resilience in the face of assaults and attacks. Pastor Nathi Hadebe came from Madagascar bringing timely words in due season to our congregation.

We’re experiencing a fresh wave of very young Jesus People weddings. In March we had a very young couple who took a stand against their family’s cultural pressures and chose to marry the Jesus People way, which inspired and allowed many young people to witness first hand the blessing of God.

At the end of March we celebrated another Jesus People wedding. The bride shared how she was both born, raised, and born again in this local church and met her groom, who testified of the goodness and faithfulness of God they have seen in provisions for the big day. She follows in the footsteps of her older sister who also was born, raised and born again in the same church and got married in the church. We are preparing for yet another young couples’ Jesus People wedding. We thank God for adding three new marriages in a space of three months.

In April we had an evening water baptism service with our daughter churches bringing their converts who shared their testimonies of how their lives were impacted by Jesus through the couples who are pioneering in their cities.

Our youth ministry workers put a great event called “Ignite the Youth” and invited all of our baby churches youth to join in, which helped reinforce deeper friendships amongst them while they had fun with games and fellowship.

The Lord continues to point people at our church to come find answers in Jesus. We’ve had a self-confessed alcoholic who shared how tired he was of spending no less than 3,000 rands daily on booze. He wanted out of that lifestyle and reached out to our church, and another lady in her 30s also reached out because she heard there is help for addicts found at the Potters House.

We’ve had the local law enforcement’s social workers refer a young troubled father to go to the Potter’s House so he’ll find help as their police victims unit team couldn’t find a way to help him. We also have become the church known in our surrounding communities as the place where any families that have loved ones who are addicted to alcohol and drugs can come to ask for help for the addicted and their hurting families.
