Revival with Ron Meyer Refreshes Starke

We “launched out into the deep” and sent our first baby work into Ocala, Florida, with Pastor Shane Selph at the helm. He and his family are averaging 14 people in two short months. Pray for Ocala as we rented them a building and are believing God to honor their labor and fill it up. We are praising God for the privilege to invest into the harvest field, also believing that He is going to move and do miracles in that city.

God is really showing the congregation in Starke what faith, dedication and sacrifice will result in. We sent Pastor Baker to Africa for two weeks full of revivals, one in Tanzania, for Pastor Scott Grabouska, and one in Kenya, for Pastor Toly Dixon. These revivals brought uncut messages from the throne room seeing many healed, delivered, saved or rededicating their lives back to the Lord. Please keep Africa in your prayers as; God has placed this country on our hearts.

We also sent our pastor to the Dominican Republic for a week long Revival with some area pastors. This brought a well needed boost from God to that area. God used three of our humble pastors to rekindle, and fire up that area up for Him again. Keep the Dominican Republic in your prayers and keep supporting world missions.

We also kept the fire here at home ignited, striving to win our local neighbors to the Lord. We had a children’s Christmas play that saw our kids bring the gospel in such a simple message. Also during the Christmas time we entered a float into the local Christmas Parade where God was glorified and honored, with this effort, we were able to get the message of Christ to thousands of our community, while winning first place for the best of show float for the third year in a row. Pray for us as we strive to do our very best for the kingdom of God.

We have had revivals, with Evangelists Craig Maclaughlin and Dennis Wright. We also had a Holy Spirit filled revival with Pastor Ron Meyer, our senior pastor from our mother church in Jacksonville, Florida. with pastor bringing much needed direction to the church. We continue in outreaching through bi-weekly concert scenes with dramas, street preaching, home Bible studies and Saturday afternoon neighbor outreach.

Lately we have seen an increase in attendance, averaging around 80 per service, with many people making the decision to give their complete life to Jesus without looking back. Our teens continue to set a great pace with their own annual Teen Boot Camp trip in North Carolina. We are believing in God that we will send approximately 16 teens to camp this year.

Just last month in April, God blessed our teens with a big financial blessing through our annual Strawberry Festival. We love this festival because it happens right around our church, this is when the lost and spiritually dead come to our parking lot. We had carnival style games and prizes, a blow up boxing ring, a water-splash chair and a rocking concert to end the night. Setting us up, to again, witness to thousands of people with one on one witnessing. Praise goes to the lord as we were able to plant the gospel seed with personal testimony and also, sponsor two teens to camp, with the proceeds from the festival.

All in all it has been a busy time here in Starke and we will continue to push toward the mark as we live for Jesus. We will keep all of our brothers, sisters and fellow church’s in our prayers as we ask that you also pray for us here in Northeast Florida. Last winter and this spring we have seen many good things.

In February we looked on Craigslist and purchased a full-size jump castle with slide for only $240, regularly $2500+. We purchased it in a nearby city between services on Sunday. On our way back to church to unload it the weather was not good, looking like possible snow. During prayer people began asking if service would still be held.

At near 7 we were getting ready for service. I looked and realized we had about 2” of snow on the ground. I then realized why people were asking. We had 10 people in service that night with the snow and all. One young girl got saved. We prayed for healing as two had hurt legs and various other things. The legs were better afterwards. One gentleman came in on crutches and left carrying them.

In March we brought in impact teams for three weekends in a row to have to use the jump castle by hosting family fun days. On March 3 we saw one saved on outreach, and saw 14 visitors during the family fun day. We had eight souls saved during outreach.

During the second family fun day we saw 26 visitors and two saved. On the 17th we brought in another impact team. During our third and final family fun day for the month going into revival we saw over 55 visitors with one soul saved. These weekends gave us huge momentum for revival with Richard Brooks.

We didn’t see any visitors immediately following any of the major outreaches. But during the revival we saw visitors every service. We saw several folks saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. During the weeks following the impact teams, family fun days, and revival we have had several families visit. In April we set up the jump castle for one weekend only preparing for revival with Evangelist MacLaughlin. We had two saved that day with over 65 visitors for the family fun day. We had just moved into a new building, and were almost immediately kicked out. This was three days before revival was to start. We decided to hold church in the living room. The revival brought in one person who had been gone several months and several visitors. We saw one saved during the course of the week, but we saw revival in a living room. My name is Joshua Shapiro, my wife Debora, our four children and I were launched April 2012, by Pastor Paul Campo, out of the Cape Cod congregation . After the preliminaries of moving, five jobs and two houses, we set out to find a building. After looking at about 50 buildings in the East Orlando area God opened a door in Winter Park. Through God’s grace we received much favor with the county. After reading the state building code, numerous meetings, and a pastor who said don’t quit we received a building permit. Next came the construction phase, which brought many late nights of labor. Even then, however, God was faithful. He brought believers and non-believers to help build His kingdom, He even used my old boss to pay for one of my best friends to fly down and help. We finally opened on the weekend of Sunday, March 4, with an invasion team of 16 people from our mother church led by Evangelist Jim Gregory.
