Music Opens a Door for the Gospel in Killeen — Fall 2019

Back in February we had had our annual Area Wide Rally with Pastor Mitchell. We are blessed to have him take time out of his schedule and come to preach to us.

This was on the heels of the Mexico City rally where numbers of people were saved and healed. He brought the simple yet life-altering truth that Jesus is alive and will demonstrate it by powerful signs and miracles. We saw an average attendance of 450 in attendance during the two-day rally.

Friday morning of the rally we also hosted a sermonizing workshop where pastors could build relationship and receive instruction on sermon building directly from the father of our faith.

In April we hosted our Harvesters Homecoming titled, “Why Not Us? Why Not Now?” Pastor Greg Mitchell and Pastor Joe Campbell were the main guest speakers.

That theme tied into our “Year of Maturity” theme for 2019. Many sermons dealing with the maturity of the believer in all aspects of the Christian life were dealt with.

We had over 500 in attendance from our 25 baby works. It is truly a blessing to see the multiplication factor. As we send out our best and as they labor in tears, the always return rejoicing in what God has done for them and they bring the fruit to prove it.

May is the greatest time to have outdoor concerts in Central Texas so we did just that. Two notable concerts that we had were a Cinco De Mayo concert with a Mariachi band all the way from McAllen, TX. These people rolled in deep to Killeen too. We love The McAllen church and thank them for their labor in outreach and their labor in music. All in all, at that concert we had over 300 in attendance with 150 visitors who heard a powerful declaration that Jesus is the way, truth and life.

God has given us favor with a local “Freddy’s” burger restaurant. We have done several concerts in their parking lot and they give us free rein to preach the gospel and share the love of Jesus with their customer. We always go in and show Freddy’s love and nothing says love more than spending your dollars with them. This time was different. Freddy’s gave us full access to their customers. We had favor to sit in the dining room and engage people in conversations about the Gospel and hand out flyers freely both inside and outside. Praise Jesus!

In June our friend from across the pond, Ernie Toppin came and tore it up! We had a Saturday Night 180 Concert where Ernie and a live band comprised of musicians from Killeen lifted up the name of Christ.

The band only had two days to learn Ernie’s songs and by God’s grace were able to pull it off. He followed up that concert with a revival. Pastor Toppin has this way of connecting with people and preaching messages that get people to consider their ways. In the revival and the concert, we saw 23 visitors and 11 people made decisions to serve Jesus.

We are just getting back from a destiny altering Chandler Bible Conference in August. “No Looking Back” was the theme this year. Notable sermons that were reference points were preached. At the end, 18 new works were planted with eight being overseas missions. Killeen 12 was pleased to announce Joab and Jade Fuentes into Queretaro, Mexico, making this our fourth overseas work. Praise God for his faithfulness.

As the summer heat is bearing down on us mercilessly, we will not stop outreaching and we will not stop bringing this good news to a lost and dying world. Please pray for us as we continue to push forward.
