Tucson Celebrates 50 Years of Faithfulness — Fall 2023

Highlighting the last couple of months was our annual June Bible Conference. This year we focused on the 50th year anniversary of The Door Tucson church. We celebrated our year of Jubilee, by casting our vision towards the future and having a number of first time conference preachers minister.

It was encouraging to hear next generation preachers, rise to the occasion, and deliver timely and inspiring messages, that encouraged both young and old alike to put aside distractions and focus on winning the world for Jesus. Many left conference with a fresh consecration to pursue God’s will for their lives. We are happy to announce the launching of six international and four domestic pioneer church plants.

The summer season has provided a great opportunity for outreach to our community using street meetings 16 and weekly “Concerts in The Park” in various locations throughout the city. Numbers of people have responded to altar calls at these events and have made decisions for Christ. Consequently, we have seen many take the next step of faith and be baptized.

Our July Baptism service was a notable night, with over 40 baptisms, with people ranging in age from six to 74 years old publicly committing their lives to Jesus Christ.

The summer has also been a stirring time for our young people. Our Vacation Bible School averaged 105 every day and challenged our next generation youth, that through life’s twists and turns, they can always look to Jesus.

Additionally, our church sent 35 teens, eight counselors and two DIs to the New Mexico Boot Camp. Teens and counselors alike came home testifying of a powerful, life changing week, with notable miracles of healing taking place. During the testimony service there was a tangible presence of God as the teens worshipped and sang of their desire to take the fire they caught into their schools. Since that time, students have actively been evangelizing their high schools, and several students have prayed and come out to church. We are thanking God for the challenge that the bootcamp brought to our teens!
