New Believers Take a Public Stand in Tucson — Winter 2026

Over the last two months, more than 300 people have made decisions for Christ. During this time, 45 individuals have been baptized. At one baptism, we saw 20 visitors - people who had come to watch friends or family get baptized - respond to the altar call.

The Bible’s prophets, including Jesus, made it very clear that moral decay would define society in the end times. We observe this happening in today’s world. Yet, the Bible also predicts a great harvest in the last days, where “the plowman shall overtake the reaper,” and “Where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.” This grace was unmistakably evident to us here in Tucson. We had scheduled an evangelist named Ross Johnston to conduct a rally at the University of Arizona. Pastor Warner believed Johnston’s testimony would resonate with today’s generation.

Johnston was conceived by artificial insemination and raised by two lesbian mothers. Growing up, Johnston had never attended church or learned about God or the Bible. However, he was invited to church at age 16, and stepping into a church for the first time, he experienced a radical conversion that day, eventually leading him to become an evangelist holding large rallies where many were converted. We initially scheduled Johnston for April, but due to a scheduling conflict, we rescheduled for September. Coincidentally, Charlie Kirk’s assassination occurred on the Wednesday before Johnston was scheduled to speak. The timing was incredibly impactful, as approximately 175 people prayed to receive Jesus at our church’s Sunday services and two University of Arizona rallies. We are praying and trusting for lasting momentum and impact from that weekend.

In October, we performed the drama “Las Puertas Del Cielo” entirely in Spanish. This gave a wonderful opportunity for our Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters to step up and showcase their acting talents. In two performances, 40 people committed their lives to Jesus.

Additionally, there is a notable pastoral transition. One of our missionary couples, German and Dora Gastelum, who pioneered a church in Cucuta, Colombia, are returning to Tucson and will be assisting in our Spanish ministry.
