Revival with Gabriel Alonso Refreshes Fresno

Revival has been on our minds. This year we have had three revivals. We had revival with Evangelist Gabriel Alonso. He reminded us that as Christians we need to get over our fears and fight. Back in May, Pastor Les Uptain, came and delivered a word in due season. Pastor Benny Rodriguez was here a few weeks ago and what an amazing time it was. In all revivals we were able to experience super natural healing. Many were healed from aches and pains on the spot.

This year we have seen a steady flow of visitors. Some have come because they received a flyer, were invited by a co-worker or happened to see the church sign and decided to stop by. One Sunday morning service, we had six visitors and three of them answered the altar call. God is on the move and his hand is upon us.

Our church outreaches regularly on Saturdays. It’s amazing to see people accept Jesus into their hearts. One outreach we encountered an older gentleman who had back pain and didn’t speak English, but that didn’t stop God from moving. One of the sisters translated and he allowed us to pray for him. He mentioned that he felt better and we felt God touch him.

We continue to have favor for our Friday night concerts at a wellknown taco stand in Fresno. At one of the concerts we had an unexpected visitor, a police officer. She was intrigued by the music and decided to stop by and watch. After learning about our ministry, she felt encouraged and took a few revival flyers to hand out to families in need of hope.

We are grateful and give God all the glory that our astor had the opportunity to travel this year. In February, he traveled to Washington and ministered for Pastor Frank Bravo who pastors at the Lakewood Church. He also traveled to Guangzhou, China and preached a powerful word for the Guangzhou church where Jackie Li and Chris Kelly minister.

In May, we were asked to participate in a Billy Graham event, Decision America, California Tour. About 5,000 people attended this event and hundreds decided to give their lives to Jesus. We are grateful to have witnessed God’s grace and mercy that night.

This past June one of our teenagers attended the South San Antonio Boot Camp. This young man has attended The Door since the age of seven and finally had the opportunity to attend bootcamp. His trip was fully sponsored. He returned on fire for God and knows that he can be used in God’s Kingdom. He can’t wait to attend next year’s bootcamp and is encouraging his twin sisters to attend.

The triple digit weather this summer didn’t slow us down. We’ve taken the Gospel to the streets. Not only has street preaching allowed us to reach the lost but also see the fire for God in the young children that attend our church. Hearing them proclaim on the bull horn that, “Jesus saves lives,” “Jesus loves you,” or “There is hope in Jesus Christ,” is encouraging to the older saints. Another area we are seeing favor is in drama, this summer we preformed, “The Choice.” It’s a skit which deals with an expectant mother having to make a choice to keep her child, while everyone is advising her to get an abortion.

The puppet ministry is growing as well. This spring and summer we have had a few puppet shows in a couple of different parks. The Misfits deal with issues such as bullies, fitting in, and fear. Even though the skits are filled with silliness, the puppets are still able to bring hope to those that don’t have any.

Although the summer has come to an end our labor for God hasn’t. This past November we had our annual Harvest Festival. It was a great time. About 75 people attended the event.
