A Season of Revival Renews Midland

We served God up until 2009 when we backslid and went back into the world. We were away from God for 14 years, thinking we knew what was best for ourselves, not knowing that God had a plan for us.

I begin to think that I could hide my sin, thinking I could keep it in the dark until one day when God flipped a switch and revealed it to my wife. We begin arguing constantly and fighting. God had been dealing with me and He gave me a choice. He said “I can leave you to yourself and you can die in your sin alone or you can come back to Me and I’ll work on you and then on your marriage.”

I argued with God, I tried to do it myself but one day while at work I was on my phone looking up parts for my motorcycle, trying to keep my mind occupied, but God caused the sermon from Pastor Hernandez here in Midland, Texas called Getting Out of the Way to speak to me. No matter what I did I couldn’t get it to stop playing on my phone! I turned my phone off and went about my day. When I got home I turned it back on, and God was telling me to listen, so I made a decision.

I told my wife I was going to church Wednesday night and if she would come with me, I would be happy. But I understood if she didn’t want to since we had been arguing and fighting a lot. She tested me. She told me that the Pastor’s wife had called her and told her that they were in Revival services with Evangelist Glen Pugliese. This was Monday night, there was service that night so I thought to myself, OK God I’m going and that evening I laid my life down, gave my heart to God and so did my wife.

Now we have been in church for a year and God has been moving. He showed me my destiny and my wife’s, for us to preach the Gospel and do his will. We’ve been in attendance faithfully.

We give the glory and honor to God for without him we will surely fail. God has improved our marriage and helped with our children. He’s even helped me to become bold and confident and to be able to speak in front of people. He has turned my heart from an ice cold stone to loving fire. God is good all the time.
