Music Opens a Door for the Gospel in Newport News — Winter 2024

We have been engaged in several impact teams throughout the Hampton Roads area and in our own city. We recently held two powerful revivals, one with Evangelist Patrick Johnson and the other with Pastor Hector Ortiz, missionary in Mitchell’s Plain, South Africa. Both men preached powerful messages and gave very specific words of knowledge and encouragement. The church was energized, challenged, and encouraged greatly by our brothers. We sent several delegates to the Chandler Bible Conference where we also announced Ricky and Rebecca Sandoval will be pioneering in Williamsburg, VA. We are excited for this couple and are looking forward to God using them to build a church there.

In October, our youth group had the opportunity to run one of our Saturday night music scenes. It was great to see our youth rising up and being effective in ministry.

We held our annual Fall Fest, a family fun day featuring games, various contests, music, and testimonies all Saturday afternoon and saw over 200 visitors in attendance. It was a powerful time for the church to join together and preach Jesus. The fruit of this endeavor was 16 first time visitors who came to Sunday morning service the following day.

We recently had a disciples’ night where our Door Director, Jamar Blyther, and soon-to-be pastor, Ricky Sandoval, had the opportunity to preach. 9 Our in-home Bible study season has started. We have several disciples who have been challenged to use the opportunity to build a work for God in their neighborhoods, and they are generating an air of excitement. One brother reported he had five visitors at his first study.

We appreciate the legacy of excellent leadership from the late Pastor Wayman Mitchell, and the continuing leadership of Pastor Greg Mitchell and Pastor Campbell. Praying God gives us all a harvest of souls in these last days.
