New Believers Take a Public Stand in Newport News

Our in-home Bible studies continue to be a great venue for fellowship and locking in new converts.

Our children’s church was honored to minister to adults in the Christmas play, “The Forgotten Christmas.” They really went out of their way, inviting relatives, friends, neighbors, and teachers. A mother of one of our members who has been visiting for a month gave her life to Jesus in the altar call.

We also held our first ever “Winter Games” Night. No, it has nothing to do with Olympic level athletics, rather an indoor game night. More than 65 visitors were in attendance with many returning for service the following Sunday morning. In early January we had the Howards’ farewell service. It was an excellent time as we saw them off to what God has for them in Jamaica. They are underway in getting established. Please join us in praying for God’s favor and that He would do a quick work there.

Recently unusual (at least for our area) inclement weather has blown in, yet we capitalize on it and used creative means to win souls. We have had two Saturday night movies recently that have been very fruitful. More visitors than we had expected have shown up. One whole family surrendered to Jesus and returned the following day for church services.

Two new converts took the plunge and were baptized. They are having a joyous time experiencing a new life in Christ. We expect more baptisms to follow as our current complement that are in the New Convert’s class are nearly complete.

Pastor Larry Mitchell has made our theme for 2025 Radical Living. We are pressing the battle to the gates corporately and individually.
