Revival with Bob Burrus Refreshes Jacksonville

As in every church there are strategic times and seasons, over the last six months we have entered into a season as a congregation of facing many of the difficulties of this present day and hour and digging down deep in our faith, taking our battle against the forces of darkness to a much greater level.

In every battle we must first face the obstacles and count the cost. This began with a call to the men aspiring to be used by God in leadership to join a Serious Men’s class. As Pastor Meyer has been walking these strategic men through intense leadership training, young and older men have responded by stepping into new areas of leadership. New faces have risen up as door directors, Bible study leaders, drama leaders, choreography, teen ministry, song service and many other areas. This in turn has inspired our Saturday Night Concert scene, The Arena, to a new level as we have been doing monthly and sometimes twice a month themed concerts to focus on particular areas of ministry. This has yielded hundreds of decisions for Jesus Christ.

In August we took a fully loaded bus to Chandler, Arizona, for their Annual Bible Conference and followed it up in September with a dynamic revival with Evangelist Bob Burrus.

These two events laid down a thorough foundation for many of our men who are called to preach, while encouraging those who may have lost focus or fallen.

In September and October we aggressively planned, labored and began to build our Halloween play, Area 228. Designed with the intent of literally scaring the “Hell” out of people, we based it on a viral outbreak that turned the infected into The Walking Dead. As the infection spreads, the chaos and mayhem in the hospitals and streets intensifies to a fevered pitch that becomes bleak and hopeless, until a doctor comes in and ministers the cure of Jesus Christ to stop the infection and bring them back to the living. This intense production brought 144 souls into the Kingdom of God. We are truly excited, thankful and humbled by these souls that God has blessed us with.

We humbly get down to business helping to ground, root and cultivate these new believers to grow and rise up to impact the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Please pray for us as we continue steadfast in faith approaching our 25th year in Jacksonville, Florida.
