Revival with Glen Pugliese Refreshes Sparta

Despite the cold, and sometimes inclement weather, good things have been taking place in Sparta this winter. One of those things included the announcement that the church building mortgage was paid off! This is an incredible blessing for the church to have the building paid for.

Recently, the disciples of the church, including long-time pillars of the church and newer disciples, have begun conducting the offering at each service. Mixing humorous, yet convicting, scriptural illustrations to the offerings, the call goes forth for the saints of the church to continue to give faithfully in their offerings and tithes.

The disciples have also been meeting regularly on Sunday mornings for a men’s class prior to regular Sunday school. This has been a great time of learning, growth, and fellowship for the church’s disciples.

Sunday school follows that group each week for everyone else in the congregation and that has also been a great time of learning.

In late January, early February Pastor Stamper conducted a Sunday School series on logic, which was powerful for those in attendance. The challenge continues to go out for as many people as possible to come to the Sunday school class as it provides discussion, growth, and an increase in revelation.

During the summer of 2023, right before the announcement that Pastor Stamper and Yolanda would be coming to take the church here in Sparta, a young man named Chrissean started coming to church, bringing his friends with him. This young man had prayed with Pastor Hansston some time before that and would come to church when possible.

After the Stampers arrived in Sparta, Chrissean continued coming to church and bringing friends with him. The fruit of this young man’s conversion is numerous young people over the last year and half have come to church, prayed for salvation, and attended other church events.

What is more powerful is that last year Evangelist Glen Pugliese gave the Sparta congregation a word that the church would have influence and impact on the youth of this city. That impact is being realized as these young people have been coming to church.

Other young people have been coming because of the testimony of church members who work at Walmart and are not afraid to share the Gospel with their coworkers, who include some of these same youth. The Sparta saints are thankful for and excited about what is happening in the city’s young people and continue to pray for all those who have been coming to church.

As winter comes to a close, the faithful saints of the Sparta church look forward to the spring and the events coming up. Those events include a revival with Evangelist Glen Pugliese, the Midwest Bible Conference in Carbondale, IL, and the 2nd annual Sparta Potter’s House Craft Fair and Outreach in addition to the regularly scheduled church services, outreaches, and personal witnesses.
