Chinle Sends Out New Workers

Throughout December, we were busy with events. We started off with our Toy Giveaway, giving away free toys for the kids, and seeing families come together in the morning service and see that God can heal their families.

We had our annual Children’s Church Christmas play titled “Reason for the Season,” which drew crowds of people for Jesus. We then gave donuts away to near by businesses, with a flyer that says “Wish you a Merry Christmas from the Chinle Potters House.” We then had our Christmas Eve service which had 300 people show up and worshipping the birth of Jesus Christ.

We had our Children’s Church sing in the Christmas parade. People were moved by the children singing at the top of their lungs and worshipping Jesus. We did Christmas caroling around Chinle, singing through neighborhoods and at businesses The Chinle community enjoyed the music and testimonies.

As the New Year came, we launched out Elijah and Anna Chinle launching serv Pete into Bernalillo, NM, and MIcha nalillo, NM out of the Prescott International Bible Conference!

After conference we had two revivals. Pastor Johan Nies from the Netherlands brought himself and his family for the revival. Pastor Keith Sullivan from Rochester, NY came with his wife and ministered to disciples and couples and challenged them to stand with Pastor Aragon and have a heart to reach the nations.

We had our annual Marriage Seminar in February with 52 couples in attendance. This past February we had a couple from our baby work in China come to Chinle, and we also had the transition service for Pastor Michael and Chanel Higgs to take over the church in Payson, AZ. Hello, my name is Mahlon Descheenie and I was born in the Chinle Potters House church.

But growing up in church doesn’t mean I had a good home. I grew up with an alcoholic dad that would invite his friends to do drugs, smoke, and drink.

As I was growing up in this type of home, I thought it was common in my life. At the age of 13, my parents were put in jail and my pastor took care of my siblings and I during that time. He invited me to a Christian Bootcamp “Enlisted to Endure” in Las Vegas, NM.

I got saved that Wednesday evening vice for Elijah and Anna Pete into Berhael and Chanel Higgs to Payson, AZ and got filled with the Holy Ghost. Then a breakthrough happened. My dad stopped drinking and life was going good, until Covid happened in 2022. Things went down hill. My dad started drinking again and my family was falling apart.

At the age of 15, I lost my uncle, my auntie, and my very own dad. But through all that struggle, I knew the only thing I had to turn to was Jesus Christ, and I prayed these words, “God if you can heal my mom and siblings back then, YOU definitely can heal us once again, amen.”

Once I prayed, I rededicated my life again. I may have stumbled through the years, but I got up stronger and more determined for my calling of becoming a pastor. Today, I’m full blood Navajo, born on the Reservation, where brokenness is common. But I NEVER smoked, drink a drop of alcohol, did drugs, and not once had suicidal thoughts. That’s all because giving my life to Jesus Christ! If He can make me a living testimony, He can do that for you.

It doesn’t matter where you come from - the only thing that matters is YOU making the decision to give your LIFE TO JESUS.
