A Season of Revival Renews Chinle — Winter 2022

Greetings from Chinle, Arizona (Navajo Nation). The Chinle church has been very busy meeting the needs of our community and our nation because of the pandemic.

We are still dealing with high numbers of Covid-19 cases within our congregation, but we are committed to following through with the vision of our fellowship. Even with the restrictions in place, we are still preaching the Gospel!

One restriction that we are currently dealing with, during the writing of this letter, is that we are still not able to physically meet within our church building. Regardless, church members and visitors still attend services by s by drive-in! parking in the church parking lot and tuning into the radio station, FM 89.1. From our vehicles, we are still able to worship, sing, and hear the preaching of God’s Word.

For the time being, we are giving God “honk offerings” as we praise Him and honk the horns of our vehicles. The phrase, “Give God a honk offering” has become our way of giving God praise as the thunderous honking of truck horns wake up nearby neighbors and businesses.

Our Navajo choir got the opportunity to sing in Chandler for their Native American Day in October. Once again, we were blessed to be able to be able to minister in music using our Navajo language. Covid-19 restrictions on the Navajo Nation have kept us from assembling for too long, so to be able to travel into the big city was a blessing.

We also had our first Revival in a long time in the month of October 2021 with Jeremiah Wacker. This was a much-needed revival even though all of our services took place in the church parking lot. The preaching of God’s word was well received and church members were greatly encouraged. Pastor Roy Garcia was able to minister to us as well. We were blessed to have him preach the Gospel in Chinle before he left to be a missionary in the nation of Japan.

Even though we are still dealing with strict Covid-19 guidelines, our church in Chinle is striving for great things to come! God is faithful and He will make a way! Continue to pray for us here in Chinle, Arizona because God is not through reaching the Indigenous peoples of America! God bless.
