Healing and Hope Mark a New Season in Chinle — Summer 2023

Even though the Pandemic has subsided, there are still many needs that need to be met within the church, in our community, and on the Navajo Nation. Unlike the rest of America, the Navajo Nation has not fully opened up because of Covid 19. However, during the writing of this letter, our new tribal president has recently only lifted the mask mandate.

The message of the church is that our God is a God of healing. Our God continues to deliver and set people free. It is true that the harvest truly is plentiful, and the laborers are few. Pray for us here on the Navajo reservation that couples would rise up and pursue that high calling of Jesus Christ.

Because tribal, Covid 19 restrictions have been minimalized, we are finally able to have our annual Chinle Campmeeting and we are excited to once again impact our local community with this week long revival. Pastor Serafico Saavedra will be ministering at this community outreach.

We were blessed to have revival with Frankie Chi. His unique style of preaching was very much needed and welcomed during these times of difficulty. The last time Frankie Chi did a revival in Chinle, we had to stop that revival short because of the Covid 19 outbreak. Now that we are able to assemble, his preaching of God’s word went forth and we were greatly encouraged. We saw many visitors from the community and backsliders return.

Because our congregation has increased, we have had to build an addition to the old sanctuary (see attached pictures below). God is continuing to do great things with our congregation here in Chinle, Arizona. We continue to press forward in reaching the Indigenous peoples of America!
