62 Decisions for Christ in Prescott

In 1970 Pastor and the late Sister Nelda along with their family came to Prescott in the midst of the Jesus People revival. Pastor Mitchell welcomed the young hippies who came in and got saved, and the rest is history. Over the past 50 years, FIFTY!, we are astonished at what God has done through our precious pastor and those who have been saved and served God in the past five decades. More than 2,600 churches worldwide are filled with people changed and delivered by Jesus Christ. Nothing has energized Pastor Mitchell more than seeing people saved, healed and changed by Jesus, and he has traveled tirelessly worldwide to preach that Gospel.

Pastor Greg Mitchell told us during a recent church service that Pastor Mitchell has been in failing health for some months and is nearing the end of his incredible ministry.

Please be in prayer for Pastor Mitchell, and the Mitchell family during this time. Please be particularly in prayer for Pastor Greg for wisdom and judgement as he makes decisions for our Fellowship during this time.

Pastor Greg has been our regular pastor for several years now, allowing Pastor Mitchell to pour himself out worldwide preaching in crusades and discipleship ministry. Our Fellowship is in good hands.

Like most churches across the world, our normal church services, concert scenes, outreaches and Bible studies were forced to be put on hold. This opened up the door to some new creative ways to reach the lost through evangelism.

“Quarantine Concerts” was our online alternative to the usual One80 music scene we put on every Saturday. People tuned in weekly to watch the concerts, and it was a great way to share the Gospel.

Although our weekly door-todoor evangelism was not able to function like it normally would, our outreach director Zach Snyder and other disciples in the church would go to Walmart and other places where they were allowed, and oneon-one witness. Others from the church held weekly street preaching at a busy intersection in Prescott, and through one-on-one witnessing they were able to lead sinners to Christ.

During the quarantine Pastor Jesse Morales preached two series of sermons during the week on topics such as depression, anxiety, and fear, and one on marriage. These turned out to be very fruitful and encouraging sermons for both the congregation and brand new converts. It was encouraging to hear and see families and visitors continue to meet during the quarantine. Members of our congregation opened up their houses to friends and family as they were able to come and participate in Livestreamed services. Others were able to send links to those who were unable to join in person. Through all of the outreach and added Livestream events, we have seen a total of 62 decisions made for Christ, with many coming into church once the doors were reopened.

Out of those decisions made, 10 were backsliders who surrendered their lives back to Christ.

Though many during this time are afraid and unsure, and hesitant to be approached and witnessed to, there are others who are desperately searching for answers during this time of shaking. We are so excited as the quarantine is starting to lift and doors are beginning to open once again.

Our first concert scene will be held this week, and we will be able to have outreaches in the park. We are excited about the new opportunities we have as people search for hope. Our prayer as a congregation and as a Fellowship is that revival would break forth as never before.

Though times are hard, God has us in His hands, and we are looking forward to seeing come to pass all that He has promised.
