New Believers Take a Public Stand in Prescott

The New Year finds us amazed and thrilled at what God has been doing in Prescott! In October, we were blessed with the ministry of Evangelist Jerry Fussel. What a powerful time we had as God moved and many lives were touched. Many sinners and backsliders were saved during the week, and on the last night, 21 people were filled with the Holy Ghost!
Just a week or so after the revival, we had our annual Haunted House, this time entitled ‘Welcome to My World’. We were inspired to utilize our old building on Ruth St. which has been vacant since we moved two and a half years ago. With the help of a small army of laborers, the old building was converted into a masterful set. What an amazing outreach! On the first day, Thursday, it snowed all day and was still raining by the time we started, but against all odds, scores of people showed up and waited in the freezing cold to come inside! The second and third nights saw even colder temperatures and larger crowds. At first we didn’t know if the location would work, but it turned out that we had more visitors than we have had in several years! By the time we were finished counting cards, we saw 204 people make decisions for Christ!
On Sunday, October 31 st we had a follow up fellowship for all the new converts from the Haunted House, and many were there. Many of the converts are still with us and a few have already been baptized!
The winter season has seen us continuing our Men’s Discipleship classes with Lee Wilson and Paul Stephens, and men have been stirred and challenged!
The church has really taken on a fresh energy and vitality since we were privileged to have Pastors Mitchell, Rubi and Blanco join the staff. Pastor Greg Mitchell has taken a hands on role in the ‘Serious Men’ class on Sunday mornings, and young men are rising up and giving their lives completely for God.
We have seen incredible things in our new All-Spanish services that Pastor Blanco preaches on Tuesday nights. In just a few weeks, they have grown to 79 in attendance! Thank God for what He is doing in the Hispanic community!
We again used our old building to host the notorious play, “My Big Fat Italian Funeral”. This drama has been seeing great results all around the southwest, and we packed the house on a Saturday night. With every seat full, and some 80 people sitting on the ground, it was an electric night. We were excited to see more than a dozen people answer the altar call! The church in Prescott has never felt so alive and there is a great sense of great things just around the corner. We are bursting at the seams and can’t wait to see what God is going to do in 2005!
