Greetings from Union City, New Jersey. We are continuing in the vision of evangelism, preaching, working and encouraging new converts and older saints alike to service and faithfulness.
We’re always trusting and believing in God for sinners in our city to get saved by repenting and turning to Christ!
Our revival in February was with Bob Burrus. He was inspiring and encouraging, allowing the Holy Ghost to have liberty in each service. We had visitors and rejoiced for all that God did during the revival.!
Our local outreaches have been fruitful, it’s not uncommon to hear that a few people are getting saved on Saturdays. The great part is that we are seeing some of these people that prayed on Saturday come back the next day for Sunday worship service. We also are rejoicing for some of our flock that had been away for a while, come back and be part of what God is doing in our church. It is really encouraging to see our Young Lions Youth Ministry begin to take shape. These young people are getting involved in various church ministries and are catching the vision. They also are getting their friends to come out to the Bible studies. In April some of the folks from our church were able to go to the East Coast Conference in Cape Cod, Mass.. The saints were lit up and returned with renewed strength and a witness to serve God and to win souls for Jesus. On Mother’s Day there was a message for the moms. They were encouraged and responded to the altar call to be the Godly mother found in Proverbs 31. Every mother was given a little gift, it was the first time we did this and we will do it next year as well. The highlight of this special event was that we had three first time visitors who happened to be mothers. Please pray for us as we approach the summer months. Testimony Patricia Ramharak My name is Patricia Ramharak. I come from a backslidden family who at one time served God and drifted away. I was raised by a single mother with four children trying to make ends meet on her own. My mother did what she thought was best at the time to raise us. Growing up, I was exposed to a lot of immoral things a kid my age shouldn’t have had to experience. As the oldest, a lot of the responsibility fell on me to help raise my brothers while mom sought a way to make extra on the side because our monthly income wasn’t enough. She became an alcoholic for a time period. Looking back now, I see how she was just trying to suppress the chaos going on around her. At the age of 16, I rebelled against my mother and started doing my own thing. I was introduced to drugs and alcohol; I embraced them to try to fit in with my friends. I was acting wild and crazy trying to fill an emptiness I had inside. At the time, I thought I was having fun, yet I wasn’t realizing that I was hurting myself and those around me. I was just thinking of myself and my own selfish desires. I dropped out of school with the excuse that I wanted to help my mom financially and that I would get a job, but really I just wanted to fulfill my desires. I got involved in an abusive relationship that I thought was normal because of the pattern I had seen growing up. I couldn’t hold on to a job because I was always focused on my personal problems and could not be responsible to what was given to me. At 21, I was pregnant with my son. I thought, now that I was going to be a mom, things were going to change, and they did: life got worse. It wasn’t until I was 22 years old that I found the true meaning of a relationship with someone who loved me for me and not just for what I could do, and his name is Jesus. I always knew about His existence, but I didn’t know I could have a personal relationship with Him. No longer did I have to prove myself to anyone or seek affection from others. With Jesus, I experienced true freedom, peace, and joy that no one else could ever offer. Today, I’m married to a wonderful, God fearing man, and we have a teenage boy. We count it a blessing to raise him in the things of God and see him build his own personal relationship with Jesus. Our family is involved in church, serving Jesus. Jesus has given me a brand new start in life; He has taught me how to be a Godly wife to my husband and a mother to our son. Although I am not perfect, I know I’m forgiven.
