Revival with Jose Torres Refreshes Union City — Fall 2010

During the fellowship two visitors came to our church in hopes that we were open. Usually we aren’t on a Thursday. One of them worked at a convenience store across the street and knew of our church because of invitations from church members. They both received Jesus in their hearts, stayed with us as we prayed in the New Year. They are attending services and outreaches today.

During the winter we continued local outreaches and faithful saints braved the low temperatures as we outreached the streets and buildings. We also continued our three Bible studies through the summer. Our coffee houses are also fruitful with visitors that come from our corner street preaching and invites.

In May we had revival with Pastor Jose Torres. Before the revival we had a major outreach and surrounding churches labored with us. Nineteen souls were saved during this outreach. We had 10 visitors during this week that joined us from an invite during the outreaches, corner street meetings or personal invitations. One person who received Jesus during that week continues to come to services and outreaches, excited to do God’s will. Pastor Torres preached timely messages to the saints that encouraged us to continue the fight for God’s will in our lives and for the souls in our city. All that took place brought unity in the church and challenged the church to work together to see souls saved and converted.

In June, we joined together with the Roselle Park church and had our annual picnic and baptism at Spruce Run. This year seven people received water baptism and we give God the glory. For this picnic, the church always invites family and friends to join us and they enjoy coming. This year we had two souls receive Jesus and we thank God that salvation can take place anywhere.

Also in June our Pastor had the opportunity to go to Bangkok, Thailand and do a revival for Pastor Bob Hall. With the civil unrest that is taking place there we were not sure if he would be able to go. Pastor encouraged the congregation to pray and fast for this country and for the missionaries that are there. Everything eased up right before pastor’s date to leave and he went. It is great to see all that God is doing in the nation of Thailand. Please pray for Pastor Hall and his wife and the church in Bangkok, Thailand.

With summer in full swing we continue to have our Bible studies along with not only Saturday outreaches, but weeknight outreaches as well. Our park and street corner outreaches begin with praise and worship as the saints take turns testifying. After ushering in God’s presence we work the crowd and with this we are seeing souls saved.
