Rochester Celebrates 40 Years of Faithfulness

Toward the beginning of August we hosted an outdoor family fun day on the front lawn of the church. This outreach was so encouraging to our congregation as there were almost thirty visitors. Most of these visitors were from a local Muslim community, many who were very open to learning more and staying in contact. Through this outreach two people prayed and we are still praying and working with this large community moving forward.

For the third year running we put on the rock opera “Neon Lights.” This outreach led to a number of first time visitors and two souls saved.

The cast hit the road in August traveling across the country to Southern California. The team performed in seven churches across the area and saw 24 people pray for salvation!

The Neon Lights team also made their way up to Canada in September for the Mississauga and Whitby churches. This was a great time of connecting with these neighboring congregations and opened the door to a number of connections for those churches. 12

For Halloween this year we hosted a trunk or treat to connect with some of the families in the local community. We are blessed to have such great favor with the local police department as they even sent over a truck to participate in their own trunk display! This was a great opportunity to reach the community as this outreach brought in 120 visitors with seven souls saved.

Our congregation is also encouraged to have connected with the church down in the Bronx. In October we sent a team down and then in November they were able to do the same for us. This was an amazing time of outreach and connection and overall between these two impact teams we saw 12 people give their lives to Jesus.

Impact teams were also sent down to Washington, PA, as well as our baby churches in Syracuse, and Brockport. Our congregation is encouraged and excited to be making connections with these neighboring churches who have the same vision for the lost.

Throughout this past year we have been having pastors who have labored in Rochester return to celebrate the church’s 40th anniversary. This has been a blessing to our congregation as we have had Pastor Eric Strutz, Pastor Jeff Day, Pastor Bob Mammen, and Pastor Jesse Morales come to minister throughout this year. We are grateful for these pastors and their investment into the city of Rochester.

We are grateful to the Fellowship for all the prayers that have been poured out for this city. We value Pastor Greg Mitchell and the Prescott church for their vision and faithfulness to the Lord in the work of evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. Please pray for us here in Rochester as we continue to take the land!
