Music Opens a Door for the Gospel in Rochester — Fall 2023

Hello from Rochester, New York! God has been moving in this city and we are excited to report all that he is doing. We kicked off the beginning of Spring by sending one of our plays, “Neon Lights” on tour around Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The team was able to use this outreach to reach many souls across those states. We are looking forward to seeing how God will continue to use this play, as we will be putting it on in our own city in August.
During the weekend of Easter, a disciple in the church led an Easter egg hunt outreach. This drew out many families from the community with over 80 visitors in attendance. This is definitely an outreach that we will continue in the following years.
In June we put on a musical called “Hopewell High,” a story that followed a group of highschoolers and showed the reality of what a lot of teens are facing today and how they can receive hope and deliverance. Through this outreach we saw around 25 visitors with at least four praying a prayer of salvation. We had the honor of having Evangelist Ralph Blanco minister a word of encouragement to our church during a weeklong revival. During his time with us we saw souls responding to the altar call and praying for salvation almost every night of the revival, with nine people praying for salvation for the first time.
In July, a disciple put on an outreach that was a 3 vs. 3 basketball tournament in one of the local parks. This outreach was a huge success with over 100 people hearing the Gospel. Aside from the people there in person, someone from the local Rochester community television network came to cover the outreach, which was very exciting to see this support of the church in the community, as well as giving even more souls the opportunity to hear the Gospel.
Aside from all these encouraging outreaches, this summer has been packed with many other exciting events like concerts on the lawn, baptisms, regular impact teams to local areas, and much more. We have been so honored to see God moving in this city and we are so excited to get to be a part of the work he is doing here!
We would like to express our gratitude to the Fellowship for all the prayers that have been poured out for this city. We value Pastor Greg and the Prescott church for their vision and faithfulness to the Lord in the work of evangelism, discipleship, and church planting.
God has blessed our church abundantly, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to reach this city for Jesus. Please pray for us here in Rochester as we continue to take the land!
