A Growing Congregation Makes Room in Reno

What a privilege it has been to be a part of what God has been doing in these last days. Our church has been doing what we have learned from Prescott AZ for the past 36 years. We have been preaching the Gospel, evangelizing, making disciples and most of all, planting churches.

A short recap of what has happened in those last eight months. We started our summer with movie outreaches, live music, and dramas in our local parks. Every Friday night we would pick a different park and set up shop, we would get between two to four saved. Besides the movie outreaches, we would have our bands play on Saturdays in different parts of our city with an average four to seven saved.

Throughout the year we had revivals with Steve Bowman, Jerry Fussell, and were blessed to have the last revival from Tony Chase. Many were saved during those revivals and stirred.

We have been bringing in leaders to stir our men with our monthly Men’s Discipleships. We were able to bring in Pastor Tom Payne. This man discipled me and planted me out, thank God for him. We also had Joe Campbell, John McCarthy and Scott Lamb bring us direction and vision. These Discipleships are a blessing to our surrounding pioneer churches giving them the opportunity to bring their men and see what they are a part of and grow.

In the July conference we planted a work into Mindenk NV, and the pastor is now open and working with a couple families. We have been sending him impact teams and getting the surrounding churches to help get him going and people have been getting saved. Please pray for the church in Minden. Our pioneer church in Midtown has outgrown their building and just signed a lease for a building three times the size of their current building. We’re believing God for great things from this church. Our church in Majunga, Madagascar planted their second pioneer church and were believing God for revival for them.

In October we had our annual Trunkor-Treat, with more than a thousand visitors. We went right into our Joker play, with 70 souls saved that weekend. For Christmas we had our Grinch play and had 20 souls saved between two shows. In January we planted our grandson into Sparks, NV and we’re excited to see what God will do in his life.

God has been giving us visitors almost every service and we have been working with new converts. Currently we have a gentleman who came into the Kingdom of God, he was born and raised in Cleveland, living a life of drug dealing, shootouts and what not. In prison he made up his mind to never go back and by the grace of God, he has done just that. God spared him and has made him a brand new man. He no longer thinks the same, acts the same, nor walk the same. This is what were all about, investing into peoples’ lives and helping them grow in God.

We showed the Memorial Stones and what a blessing that has been to all of us. This has caused a fresh fire in our church, fresh vision, complete clarity on why we do what we do. We are stirred to keep doing what has been given to us by Pastor Mitchell.
